


Mobile Belt Conveyor
The mobile belt conveyor is a piece of continuous conveying and loading/unloading equipment characterized by high efficiency and excellent mobility. Equipped with wheels at the base, it requires no fixed foundation and can be flexibly repositioned according to operational needs. It can be operated in either towed or pushed modes.
Structural composition of the equipment
From the perspective of operation and maintenance, mobile belt conveyors can be categorized into the following functional modules:
(I) Frame and Mobility Module: Includes the main frame (steel tube structure), travel wheels, and swivel casters. Travel wheels come in two types: pneumatic tires and steel wheels.
(II) Conveying and Load-bearing Module: Includes the conveyor belt, upper and lower idlers, the drive pulley, and the bend pulley.
(III) Drive and Transmission Module: Includes the motorized pulley or electric motor, the gear reducer, etc.
(IV) Lifting and Adjustment Module: Includes the electric or manual lifting mechanism.
(V) Electrical Control Module: Includes the electrical control box, switches, contactors, and other electrical components.
Application scope of the equipment
Mobile belt conveyors are widely used in locations where loading and unloading points frequently change. Specific applications include organic fertilizer plants, fertilizer factories, coal yards, mines, warehouses, construction sites, sand and gravel yards, farms, ports, wharves, stations, and grain depots. They are primarily used for the short-distance transport, loading, and unloading of bulk materials or individual packaged items weighing less than 100 kilograms.
Types of usable raw materials
The materials that can be conveyed by this equipment fall into two main categories: bulk materials and packaged goods. Bulk materials include coal, crushed stone, sand, cement, chemical fertilizers, grain, cereals, and mineral ore; packaged goods consist of materials in bags.
The working principle of the equipment
The working principle of a mobile belt conveyor is as follows: the conveyor belt loops around the head and tail pulleys to form a closed circuit. The drive unit transmits power via the friction between the drive pulley and the conveyor belt, driving the belt to run continuously. Material is loaded onto the belt at the feed end and transported to the discharge end for unloading.
Equipment operating instructions
(I) Pre-start Inspection: A comprehensive pre-start check is crucial for preventing 80% of sudden malfunctions. Inspect the conveyor belt for damage or misalignment; check that idler rollers rotate freely; verify that all fastening bolts are secure; ensure travel wheels and swivel casters are in good condition; check the lifting mechanism for proper function; and confirm correct power wiring and proper grounding.
(II) No-load Startup: Strictly adhere to the principle of "start the machine before loading material." Starting the machine while loaded is prohibited to prevent motor burnout due to instantaneous overload or belt tearing caused by sudden impact. Always start the equipment without a load and begin feeding material only after normal operation is established.
(III) Operational Monitoring: Ensure material is fed evenly during operation to avoid overloading. Monitor the conveyor belt for smooth movement and check for any misalignment. Listen for abnormal equipment noise. Riding on the conveyor is strictly prohibited.
(IV) Shutdown Procedure: Follow the principle of "stop the machine before cutting off the material feed." Cease feeding material before shutting down; allow the equipment to run without a load for 2–3 minutes to clear any remaining material from the belt, then disconnect the main power supply.
Application of the equipment in the production line
Mobile belt conveyors play a pivotal role in material transfer across various production lines. In organic fertilizer production, for instance, they transport materials from crushers to turners, from granulators to dryers, and from screening machines to packaging scales. At coal yards and mining sites, they are used for loading and stacking coal and ore. In warehouses and on construction sites, they facilitate material handling, loading, and unloading.
