Rotary Screener Machine
Rotary screens are core screening equipment in the post-processing section of organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer production lines, responsible for separating finished products from recycled materials. Because this equipment operates continuously in a dusty environment, and the screens are consumable parts, the standardization of operation and the quality of maintenance directly affect screening efficiency, product quality, and the continuous and stable operation of the production line. Rotary screens involve the coordinated operation of multiple subsystems, including mechanical transmission, screening systems, and dust collection and sealing. Establishing a scientific and standardized operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting system is fundamental to ensuring the long-term, efficient, and stable operation of the equipment.
The rotary screen has a simple and compact structure. The drum is installed at an angle and driven to rotate via a coupling, making operation convenient and smooth. The equipment uses a combined screen and sealing structure to effectively control dust and noise. Regularly inspecting the screen surface for damage and replacing it promptly is crucial to ensuring screening quality.
Structural Disassembly and Component Description
From an operation and maintenance perspective, a rotary screen can be divided into the following functional modules:
(I) Screening Execution Module: Includes the drum assembly and screen. The drum adopts a cylindrical or hexagonal design. The screen is available in various materials such as manganese steel, stainless steel, and nylon. The screen is a major wear part and requires regular inspection.
(II) Transmission Drive Module: Includes the motor, reducer, coupling, and drive wheel.
(III) Support and Sealing Module: Includes the frame (high-carbon steel plate, welded channel steel), sealing cover, and dust cover.
(IV) Feeding and Discharging Module: Includes the feed inlet, various graded discharge outlets, and hoppers.
Application scenarios and applicable industries
Rotary screening machines are widely used in screening workshops of organic fertilizer plants, finished product grading sections of compound fertilizer plants, post-processing stages of bio-organic fertilizer production lines, material grading sections of composting plants, and material screening sections in the chemical and mining industries.
Common material types
Rotary screening machines can process a wide range of granular materials, including organic fertilizer granules, compound fertilizer granules, blended fertilizer granules, bio-organic fertilizer granules, compost products, ores, sand and gravel, ceramsite, and coal.
Working mechanism and operating logic
The working mechanism of a rotary screen is based on the synergistic effect of "mechanical rotation + gravity screening + self-cleaning". Inside the tilting rotating drum, the material tumbles under the action of centrifugal force and gravity. Particles smaller than the screen mesh size pass through the screen, while particles larger than the screen mesh size move down the drum wall and are discharged. A plate-type screen cleaning mechanism continuously cleans the screen during the screening process.
Target user profile
It is primarily aimed at production managers and equipment maintenance personnel in organic fertilizer plants and compound fertilizer plants, operation and management personnel of fertilizer production lines, and screening section managers in the chemical and mining industries.
Maintenance tips and schedule
(I) Daily Inspection: Clean residual materials and dust from the equipment after each shift. Check the screen surface for damage. Check the spring components for looseness. Check all fastening bolts for looseness. Add an appropriate amount of lithium-based grease to the transmission box grease fitting each shift.
(II) Periodic Maintenance: Replace damaged screens periodically. Regularly check the lubrication condition of each bearing. Regularly check the integrity of the sealing devices. Regularly check the tension of the drive belt. Regularly check the foundation bolts.
(III) Lubrication Management: Add grease to the transmission bearings according to the specified cycle. Regularly check the oil level in the reducer and replenish or replace the gear oil as needed.
Troubleshooting and Repair Solutions
Screen clogging: Stop the machine and clean; control the moisture content of the material; select equipment with a screen cleaning mechanism.
Screen damage: Replace promptly; install a debris removal device at the feed inlet.
Equipment vibration: Tighten the anchor bolts; adjust the roller balance; replace the bearings.
Abnormal noise: Replace the bearings; check the gears; tighten the transmission components.
Seal failure: Replace the sealing device.
Application of equipment in production line
The rotary screen is located after the cooler and before the packaging machine in the fertilizer production line. The complete post-processing flow is: granulation → drying → cooling → screening → coating → packaging.
