There is no fixed replacement cycle for the roller shells of a double roller granualtor machine. The core factors are the characteristics of the raw materials, the production time of the roller press granualtor production line, and the roller shell material. The conventional replacement cycle and criteria for organic fertilizer/compound fertilizer scenarios are as follows, but in practice, the actual wear condition is the primary basis for replacement:
Conventional Service Life (Reference)
• Organic fertilizer granulation (soft raw materials, low wear, high-chromium cast iron roller shells): Approximately 3-6 months for single-shift production, approximately 1-2 months for 24-hour continuous production;
• Compound fertilizer granulation (raw materials containing inorganic salts, high wear, high-hardness alloy roller shells): Approximately 1-3 months for single-shift production, approximately 15-45 days for 24-hour continuous production;
• If the raw materials contain sand, gravel, or metal impurities that have not been removed, roller shell wear will accelerate by more than 50%, significantly shortening the service life.
Core Replacement Criteria (Replace if any of the following conditions are met)
1. The effective thickness of the roller shell is reduced by 1/3 (original factory roller shells are generally 40-60mm thick; replace when worn down to 25-40mm);
2. The roller surface shows large areas of pitting, cracks, or chipping, or the pressure strips/mold grooves are severely deformed, resulting in uneven granulation particle size and a sharp decrease in granulation rate (below 85%);
3. After roller shell wear, the gap between the two rollers cannot be adjusted evenly, resulting in uneven load distribution, severe equipment vibration, or abnormally high hydraulic pressure during operation.
Tips
The roller shells can be flipped/interchanged (left and right rollers, front and back sides), which can extend the service life by approximately 30%, suitable for situations with even wear.
