Advantages and Disadvantages of Wet Granulation Process Using Organic Fertilizer Disk Granulator Machines

Advantages:

1. Excellent pelletizing effect: organic fertilizer disk granulator machine produce round, uniform, and dense pellets with a regular appearance and high commercial value. Suitable for compound fertilizers, organic fertilizers, and other applications requiring high-quality pellets.

2. Wide process adaptability: Highly compatible with various materials, including viscous, inorganic, and organic materials. Adding binders allows for flexible adaptation to different raw material characteristics, resulting in high production flexibility.

3. Simple and easy to operate: Pellet size and pelletizing rate can be precisely controlled by adjusting the disc speed, tilt angle, and spray volume. Easy for beginners to learn, and runs stably.

4. Simple equipment structure, low cost, small footprint, convenient maintenance, and few malfunctions. Suitable for small to medium-sized bio-organic fertilizer produciton lines and initial production use, with low investment costs.

5. High pelletizing rate: Under normal production conditions, the pelletizing rate can reach over 80%. Moderate return material volume, high material utilization rate, and low production loss.

 

Disadvantages:

 

1. Long process flow, requiring supporting drying and cooling equipment. High moisture content in wet granules necessitates dehydration and solidification, increasing equipment investment and energy costs.

2. Low production efficiency, relying on rolling agglomeration into pellets, resulting in slow forming speed. The output of a single fertilizer making machine is limited, making it difficult to adapt to ultra-large-scale, high-yield production lines.

3. Strict requirements for material moisture content. Too low a moisture content prevents pellet formation, while too high a moisture content leads to sticking and clumping. Precise moisture control is required, demanding high precision in controlling raw material humidity.

4. Prone to dust and wastewater generation. Spraying operations and material transfer easily generate dust, and drying, condensation, and equipment cleaning produce wastewater, requiring additional investment in environmental treatment.

5. Relatively limited pellet strength. Compared to dry-extruded pellets, wet-formed pellets have slightly weaker resistance to compression and breakage, making them more susceptible to damage during storage and transportation.
