"Abnormal noise" from mixing equipment is the most direct early warning sign. During the normal operation of a double axis mixer, the sound of the mixing blades rubbing against the material is continuous and low-pitched. A sudden, sharp metallic grinding sound usually indicates that the clearance between the blades and the casing is too narrow or that the blades have worn down to their limit. The machine should be stopped immediately for inspection; if blade wear exceeds 5mm, mixing uniformity begins to decline. Failure to replace worn blades promptly can damage the casing or even cause the main shaft to snap. Operators are advised to use a stethoscope or a simple noise meter to record operating sounds during every shift, creating an "acoustic profile" that facilitates rapid troubleshooting when anomalies occur.
"Pan adhesion" in disc granulators signals a parameter imbalance. Under normal operating conditions, only a thin layer of material adheres to the surface of the organic fertilizer disc granulator. If material sticks to the bottom of the disc over a large area and the scraper cannot move it, this indicates that the material's moisture content has exceeded the optimal 25%–35% range, or that the scraper clearance has exceeded the design specification of 8–12mm. If this adhesion persists without adjustment, the granulation rate will plummet, and the accumulation of recycled material will clog the entire production line. It is recommended to check for disc adhesion every two hours and immediately adjust the water spray volume or scraper clearance if any abnormality is detected.
"Current fluctuations" in NPK blending machines are a clear indicator of issues within the proportioning system. The operating current of an NPK blender typically remains stable at 70%–85% of its rated value. A sudden fluctuation exceeding ±10% may indicate signal interference from weighing sensors, uneven feeding caused by material bridging, or a foreign object jamming the mixer's interior. Data feedback from the entire NPK blended fertilizer production line offers the most direct insights; it is recommended to install a multi-functional digital display meter to monitor current load in real-time, set upper and lower alarm thresholds, and implement an automatic shutdown mechanism to protect against limit violations.
For bio-organic fertilizer equipment, "temperature anomalies" directly impact the viability of microbial strains. During the granulation process in a disc granulator, if the material temperature exceeds 55°C, the survival rate of functional bacteria begins to decline—an often-overlooked reason why many bio-organic fertilizer products fail quality inspections. An infrared thermometer should be installed at the granulator's feed inlet; if an abnormal temperature is detected, the feeding rate should be immediately reduced, or the disc tilt angle adjusted to accelerate material discharge. Establishing a production line data dashboard to visualize operating parameters at every stage enables a transition from "reactive repair" to "preventive maintenance."
