The difference and choice between wet and dry granulation

2023/03/20

When making fertilizer pellets, there are two main methods of granulation: wet granulation and dry granulation. So which approach might be better? How about choosing the right machine to get efficient fertilizer pellets?
The difference between wet and dry grains refers to the material with a granulation water content of about 30%-50% of the fertilizer. When granulating, the material always forms particles. Because it has the centrifugal force produced when the pelletizer works. After granulation, the particles always have inappropriate moisture and temperature.
Dry granulation refers to the granulation process of dry materials with moisture content of about 12%-18%. Low water content determines that the granulation process is always extrusion. The final particle size is uniform and the hardness is good. In addition, dry granulation requires virtually no additional process. Therefore, you can pack directly for easy storage and transportation. Dry granulation process is simple, low investment, convenient operation.

In Huaqiang we have designed a variety of wet granulator, including
drum granulator, new organic fertilizer granulatorand disc granulator. Granulation rate was above 95%. New organic fertilizer granulator is a special equipment for the production of organic fertilizer particles. The production capacity is about 1-10t/h. Therefore, it is more suitable for small and medium-sized organic fertilizer production lines. Drum type granulator and disctype granulator can be used in organic fertilizer pelleting production line and compound fertilizer pelleting production line. Also, if you want large-scale production scale, rotary drum granulator is your first choice. The production capacity is 20t/h.
The pelletizer used for dry pelletizer includes a roll extrusion pelletizer and a die pelletizer. Roller extrusion granulator is suitable for compound fertilizer granulator. Because it can be used for all kinds of ordinary compound fertilizer materials granulation. Different from the roll extrusion granulator, the flat die granulator can be used to make organic fertilizer particles.
